Jess Mah launched her first six-figure business in middle school and never looked back. She’s been part of the founding team of more than 10 companies, collectively valued at over $100 million, and is currently the founder of Mahway — an investment firm backing bold, high-conviction founders in complex, high-impact industries.

At Mahway, Jess works with a team of over 20 operators to help startups scale across fintech, biotech, AI, and litigation finance. She sits on five boards and brings deep operational, technical, and strategic experience to every venture she supports.

Jess studied Computer Science at U.C. Berkeley and has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30, Inc. Magazine, and Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business. She made history as the youngest woman accepted into Y Combinator in 2010, the youngest to join YPO in 2013, and the youngest graduate of Harvard Business School’s Presidents’ Program in 2024.

But the titles are just one part of the story.

Jess is known for her radical transparency and bold leadership. She’s leaned into sharing not just wins, but the messiness behind the scenes — because that’s what resonates with people, and what truly builds trust.

“Personal brand today is about sharing who the real me is.”

She splits her time between San Francisco and New York, surrounded by great people, big ideas, and her puppy. This blog is where she continues the conversation — on her terms.
